 International Design Programme Semester

All you need to know about the IDPS programme.

What is IDPS

The IDPS is a one-semester course designed to train final-year industrial design engineering students to work in international teams. In the IDPS, an international team of students works on a real-life project. The language of communication is English (level required B2). Students are awarded 30 ECTS if they successfully complete the programme.

In brief, the programme has the following characteristics:
  • It is international and multicultural.
  • English is the working language.
  • Its focus is on eco design and sustainability
  • It is an intensive, one-semester programme.
  • It is worth 30 ECTS.

The IDPS has two complementary parts:

  • A project (18 ECTS): during the semester and under the guidance of an academic tutor, an international team of four to six students works on a real-life project. Teams are made up of students from an industrial design engineering background from all over Europe and beyond. Individual and group tutorials will be offered during the semester.
  • Courses (12 ECTS): Four core courses are offered during the semester. Each of these is made up of 20 contact hours plus assignments and a final evaluation.

The following courses are included in the IDPS study programme:

  • Eco Design Strategies
  • Sustainable Design
  • Human Centered Design
  • Business Practicum

The programme includes cultural and social activities.

The course book contains more specific information about the courses, such as the learning goals, the assessment and the programme of the courses. (IDPS Coursebook).
