Learning Outcomes


Once qualified, graduates will have a solid grounding in industrial engineering geared towards mechanical engineering in the widest sense. This includes the design, development and deployment of devices, machinery, processes and systems in which both mechanical work and energy is involved. Graduates will also be equipped with the knowledge to select appropriate materials and structurally design systems and production processes. These skills are all combined with the capacity to manage projects and function efficiently in a multilingual and multidisciplinary environment.

 

Career prospects


On completion of this degree, graduates will have received the necessary training to carry out a wide range of tasks within the mechanical and metallurgical industries. These tasks include managerial duties and design project management. They will also be capable of efficiently assembling and maintaining industrial systems and installations in the mechanical, electromechanical, thermal and fluid mechanics fields. Finally, they will be able to undertake other responsibilities such as management, organization and sales or take up teaching posts and research. They will be qualified to work in both the private and public sector, be self-employed or accept teaching posts at levels permitted by current legislation.


Acquired competences


Competences include the understanding of basic materials and technologies which allow the student to learn new methods and theories and thus enable him/her to be versatile and adapt to new situations. Students will be able to draw up, develop and manage projects in the fields of Mechanical Engineering. They will be capable of undertaking organizational and planning tasks within business enterprises and other organizations. They will also have the knowledge to analyze and evaluate the impact of their technical solutions at a social and an environmental level. Finally, they will have the skills to operate in a multilingual and multidisciplinary environment.
